i'm a writer, but not professionally, a musician, but not professionally. i learned flute first, and years ago a pretty girl told me i should learn guitar. eventually, i did. i can play a bunch of instruments, none of them spectacularly well. i live in canada. i'm second gen. somewhere west of québec, east of bc.

i like new writing and old music, big symphonies and small poems. i take my coffee black, my whisky neat. i wear my hair long, and my beard's grayer than i remember.

i go by malachite because it's an alias, & we used to use these online all the time. i've been online forever, & maybe too long. since the web was a few years old, and on other systems before that.
