2024-05-18: long weekend (so far)

woke up this morning and fixed a small iced coffee and worked on some compositions
went out for breakfast, had a satisfying meal and an unsatisfying cappuccino
went to ikea for two (2) small items
played snowbird with my in-laws, played 31 with my in-laws
have played a bunch of games since they got in yesterday; i've yet to win a thing
wrote a tiny poem on my phone, three lines long
rain all week: took my dogs for a walk through the thoroughly-soaked neighbourhood, and my younger dog followed behind a boston terrier without barking (while i praised him and shovelled treats into his mouth). we've been working on his reactivity. he's been getting (a tiny bit) better.
while my partner and in-laws played more cards, i cooked supper: lemon chicken with penne in a cream sauce, caesar salad, garlic toast
via my mastodon feed, found a bunch of interesting essays from jason velazquez over at fromjason.xyz. in particular, i really liked this essay on where all the personal websites have gone.
watched the jays build up a lead, watched the jays blow it, & watching the canucks right now, hoping they don't blow it too
this is a quiet life & this is a good life
there is talk of going to get ice cream later
