2026-01-07: cabin

little getaway next month: we've rented a cabin in the shield. same place we rented maybe three years ago now? north of the city, up into the lakes and boreal forest area. we're going with friends, bringing all our dogs, going to go for long walks in the cold, sit in the hot tub, have drinks, play games, relax. february is a short month but in the hardest part of the year. it's going to be good to get away.

(when i was younger, my friends and i would talk about trips like this, but we had no money — grateful to be at a point in my life where we can agree on a weekend and pool a bit of money and just drive.)
